Enter and Work in Confined Spaces - RIIWHS202E – Course Information
The Enter and Work in Confined Spaces course provides practical, real-world training for people required to work in confined spaces such as tanks, pits, silos, trenches, and sewers. You’ll learn how to:
- Understand WHS obligations and confined space requirements
- Identify confined space hazards and apply effective control measures
- Complete entry permits and isolation processes correctly
- Select, inspect, and correctly use confined space PPE and equipment
- Apply correct procedures before, during, and after confined space entry
- Restore the work area safely after confined space work is completed
By the end of the course, you’ll be confident in your ability to manage risks, use equipment correctly, and work safely in confined spaces.
Training Delivery & Assessment
To provide the best learning experience, this course is delivered using a blended learning model combining online theory with face-to-face practical training. You’ll be supported throughout the course by an experienced Trainer Assessor.
Step 1 - Online Module (complete within 30 days)
- Self-paced online learning
- Knowledge checks, quizzes, and scenario-based assessments
Step 2 - Face-to-Face Training (1 day)
- Hands-on tasks based on the theory component
You must successfully complete both steps to achieve competency.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal prerequisites. However, students must have:
- Basic computer skills and internet access
- Sufficient language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills
